Enacted in 2017 AD (2073 BS), this Act regulates the establishment, operation, management, and supervision of banks and financial institutions in Nepal. It empowers Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) as the main regulatory authority and ensures the safety, soundness, and transparency of the financial system.
"बैङ्क तथा वित्तीय संस्था सम्बन्धी ऐन, २०७३" (Bank and Financial Institution Act, 2073 – BAFIA) नेपालको वित्तीय क्षेत्रमा सञ्चालन हुने सबै खालका बैंक तथा वित्तीय संस्थाहरूलाई नियमन, निर्देशन र व्यवस्थापन गर्न बनाइएको एक मुख्य कानुन हो। यस ऐनले नेपाल राष्ट्र बैंकलाई नियामक निकायको रूपमा अधिकार प्रदान गर्दछ, र सबै बैङ्क तथा वित्तीय संस्थाहरू (Class A, B, C, D) का गतिविधिहरूलाई कानुनी ढाँचामा ल्याउँछ।
